equity research with a new strategic platform. We are seeking an outstanding junior or intermediate-level Java
developer with strong interest and aptitude in front-end software design and development.

Responsibilities will vary according to skills and interests, but may include:
Java development of online tools used by research professionals to create and publish equity research.

into our applications; maintaining and enhancing the architecture we use for content presentation, Web site
navigation, etc.).
Performance analysis and optimization of existing systems.
User interface design and usability testing; implementation of usability enhancements to our applications.
Help to define and document standards and best practices for user-facing technology products within Investment

mastery of a particular list of technologies. The candidate must be able to thrive in a small-group, relatively
unstructured environment that emphasizes creativity and quality.
Required: A solid grounding in Java programming; fundamental user interface design skills (an eye for visual layout,
excellent writing skills, and the ability to ?think like a user?).
Strongly beneficial: experience with server-side Web development and related products and technologies,
especially Java and open-source technologies (Servlet API/Tomcat, Apache, SOAP/Axis, Lucene, XSLT/Xalan, WebDAV,
etc.);
